POSITION SUMMARY

The role of the Enterprise IT Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes supervising and administering a virtual team of delivery engineers, project managers, and support personnel in a multiple projects environment and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Enterprise IT Project Manager must possess strong technical understanding of Nth's core solution areas.

The Enterprise IT Project Manager assumes ownership and responsibility for managing the successful delivery of client professional services projects, while always maintaining the Nth Corporate Culture (see below). You may be required to work at different times of the day, including nights and weekends, as needed and without prior notice. This is a Salaried Exempt position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Serves as a Project leader for projects, including HPE Branded Nth delivered services, Nth Professional Services, third party consultant services and those of Nth's primary partners. Projects vary in length from a few days to several months. 
  • Coordinates all project activities, including scheduling delivery of equipment, Solutions Engineers and customer personnel. Provides Project Management services to Nth's customers in a consulting capacity. Assists Solution Architects in drafting detailed services scope as articulated in a Statement of Work (SOW) for complex hardware, software and service solutions. Assists Solution Engineers in creating delivery engineering Scope of Work documents as necessary. Ensure all SOWs are written and approved by clients prior to starting to work on the project. This includes converting 3rd Party SOWs to Nth SOWs. Supervises the creation of, generates, maintains and is ultimately responsible for all project documentation, keeping accurate records and notes regarding all client projects, including timekeeping, documentation, project plans, trip reports and status reports, full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. 
  • Maintains overall project responsibility through implementation and troubleshooting services and ensures specifications as outlined in the SOW or TDS are met. 
  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, and devises contingency plans.
  • Minimizes our exposure and risk across multiple projects.
  • Assists Finance to determine appropriate revenue recognition for all projects under his/her direction. 
  • Works in conjunction with project's delivery resources to resolve client's technical problems.
  • Working with Finance, tracks project actuals against budget and addresses variances.
  • Reviews Contracts, RFP's and Bid Requirements.
  • Manages projects for Nth Professional Services, projects for our primary partners, and for internal projects. Works with the project team to ensure projects are delivered within scope, on time, within budget, and meeting or exceeding customer requirements and expectations. 
  • Uses appropriate project management tools and techniques as appropriate for the size and complexity of the project. 
  • Reviews internal operational procedures and processes that relate to Nth's projects in general, and make suggestions to improve them. Document all changes and any newly defined procedures and processes.
  • Makes best effort to respond to calls and emails from the office, both during and after business hours. 
  • Provides own transportation and has a reliable vehicle, which is available at all times for immediate dispatch.
  • Flexible with demands on time and able to deal with frequent and last minute scheduling changes.
  • Able to regularly work 50 or more hours per week, with night and weekend work according to the customer's scheduling needs, in order to complete the requirements of the position. 
  • Able to work during Nth Generation's core hours of operation, from 8:30am to 5:30pm. When not at a customer's site, must regularly be onsite at the Nth corporate office during core hours of operation. Flexible to come in early and/or stay late, if there are last minute requirements to perform tasks.
  • As business and operational demands dictate, additional duties may be assigned and expected to be performed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES, include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in SOW approvals during the quoting process.
  • Assist in working with cross functional team members for process improvements;
  • Assist the Professional Services and Technical teams with tech-edits, troubleshooting, configurations and research, as needed and as time permits.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

• Attends 2 or more weeks of technical training per year, which may be out-of-town or out-of-state.
• Attends ongoing training to keep current knowledge base on products we support.
• Maintains current certifications, and keep up-to-date on certifications for new products or services, as directed by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and / or Experience

• B.A. degree in Computer Engineering or related field (4 years of relevant work experience can take the place of a 4-year degree)
• 5 years of relevant enterprise technical experience and strong working knowledge of the core solution areas list above.
• Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from the Project Management Institute.

• Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments, travel schedules, and presentation requests in an unstructured environment.
• Highly developed communications skills for interacting with clients effectively. Can independently handle difficult client situations.
• Ability to maintain a courteous, professional manner with clients at all times and work well under stress.
• Ability to interface internally with all departments and externally with outside sales, clients, and partners.
• Ability to work effectively under remote supervision.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from the Project Management institute desired
• Operating Systems Certification (1st or 2nd tier party certification) or Windows or Unix Certification is desired but not required.
• Driver's License.
